Bolton got this right: What are the bases for peace in the mideast?

Sen. Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., challenged Bolton's claim that the root cause of the renewed Israeli-Hezbollah conflict is terrorism."You're a brilliant man," Chafee told Bolton. "That statement doesn't make any sense. Terrorism is a device. There's got to be something deeper for the root cause."
Bolton replied, "I think the real root cause is the absence of a fundamental basis for peace in the region."
While it is true that if Bolton were my dog I'd castrate him, keep him on a choke collar and a teaching leash, and never feed him meat, he got this right.
So as we are all at least as smart as Bolton, and nowhere near as intransigent, and the wannabe advisors to the Democratic Party and the world, and the last best hope of the world, let us reason together.
What are the bases for peace in the middle East?
